Georgians dominate weight throw
Just as their habit from coast to coast, the Throw 1 Deep club from Georgia thoroughly dominated the weight throw, only final of the Thursday night session. They brought nine girls and six boys, and all made the finals. They won both events with the national boys leader Wes Wright going 77-3 and US#2 Lauren Chambers hitting 58-10-5. The girls runner-up Patrice Gates set a national sophomore class record.

WES WRIGHT GA won at 77-3, short of his US#1 throw of 80-1.5 this year, but easily good enough for his second straight Simplot win.	PATRICE GATES GA set a new national sophomore class record in the weight throw at 54-00, surpassing the 53-11 record set in December by Melissa Kurzdorfer NY. Gates' Throw 1 Deep club from Georgia took the top 5 spots and 8 of the top 10, led by event winner Lauren Chambers 58-10.5, who improved on her US#2 ranking.
